Know Before You Go
Consider traveling during low seasons
Like most hotels, all-inclusive resorts offer nightly rates that fluctuate seasonally, especially around major holidays. Prior to booking, research the peak season in the destination you’re traveling to and considering traveling during shoulder seasons to save money and avoid crowds. Some all-inclusive resorts also have minimum nightly stays during weekends or holidays, so play around with dates and be flexible.
Read the fine print.
Before you book, make sure to read the hotel’s terms and conditions and thoroughly research what the nightly rate covers. All-inclusive doesn’t always mean every meal, drink, and activity is included in your package. Common exclusions include premium alcohol, spa treatments, and off-site excursions. Every resort is different, and many offer tiered packages that outline included services and amenities.
Keep seasonal weather conditions in mind.
Many of the all-inclusive resorts on this list are located in areas that experience hurricane season or serious winter conditions. While some hotels may offer seasonal activities that are worth the trip alone, it’s still best practice to think about getting travel insurance and reading the hotel’s fine print before booking your trip. Many all-inclusive properties have strict cancellation policies, and you want to avoid any situation where the weather causes you to lose your trip and travel funds.
