  • Jennifer Grey recently announced that she would be a part of a new Dirty Dancing sequel nearly 40 years after the classic hit screens in 1987.
  • Perhaps to celebrate, Grey went on a girls’ trip to the beach with longtime friend Tracy Pollan, the wife of Michael J. Fox.
  • Grey, 65, looked incredible in a bikini and a one-piece as she took in the sun and sand.

Jennifer Grey of Dirty Dancing fame had a recent sun-soaked girls’ trip with longtime friend Tracy Pollan, the wife of Michael J. Fox—and let us all in on a glimpse of it.

Grey, 65, looked unbelievable in a black bikini as she posed on the sand, the blue water visible behind her. In another shot, Grey and Pollan—who have been friends since they were 14 years old—posed together for a selfie, before a shot of Grey in a black one-piece swimsuit emerging from the water. The carousel, posted on February 6, ended with a selfie of Grey wearing sunglasses, a blue scarf, and a gray ribbed tank top, a hilly landscape behind her.

“Long overdue girls trip @tracy.pollan🤍,” Grey captioned the images. “giggled like we were back in high school.”

Pollan commented, “Love you the mostest!” The two have known one another since they attended New York City’s Dalton School together. Grey previously called Pollan her “lifelong sister-friend” in a 2023 birthday tribute to her, adding that “There is nothing like having someone you can always count on, from 14 on, through so many chapters, through so much life.”

As for how Grey stays healthy, she told New Beauty that her “only dietary requirement is that I only eat food that I look forward to eating. For me, that means a lot of healthy food like delicious salads and fish, but also pastas. For snacks, I always have hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, berries, almond butter, avocados, and bread, of course.”

“I don’t like to deny myself when it comes to food,” she added. “To me, food is nourishment, and food is to be enjoyed. It’s just about balance.”

Harkening back to 1987’s Dirty Dancing, Grey loves to stay in shape through dance, a passion she rediscovered after she won Dancing With the Stars in 2010. “I fell back in love with dance,” Grey said of her post-show experience. “I became obsessed with social dancing, and last year, I was back in ballet class, and I actually started dancing on pointe for the first time in my life.” She added, “I don’t think I’ll ever stop dancing. No matter how old I am, I’m going to shift and adjust to whatever makes my body happy.”

And it looks like Grey has more dancing in her future—a Dirty Dancing sequel, to boot. On January 27, Grey announced that she would be reprising her character of Frances “Baby” Houseman nearly 40 years after the film’s release; she’ll also serve as an executive producer on the project.

“The role of Baby has held a very deep and meaningful place in my heart, as it has in the hearts of so many fans over the years,” Grey said, per People. “I’ve long wondered where we might find Baby years later and what her life might be like, but it’s taken time to assemble the kind of people that I felt could be entrusted to build on the legacy of the original film—and I’m excited to say that it looks like the wait will soon be over.”

Grey had noted earlier that the new film won’t attempt to recreate the chemistry that she had with co-star Patrick Swayze, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2009 at just 57 years old.

“All I can say is there is no replacing anyone who’s passed—you never try to repeat anything that’s magic like that,” she said. “You just go for something different.”

Of being in her 60s, Grey told New Beauty, “I truly believe that the second half of a woman’s life is the best half and that women are hot at every age.”

“As I get older, I’m getting better,” she continued. “I’m excited to see where I’m gonna go and what I’m gonna do. I want everyone to feel that way. Life should be fun, exciting, and enjoyed.”
