  • President Donald Trump is expected to visit his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1.
  • The visit follows the release of a documentary about first lady Melania Trump.
  • This trip would be Trump’s 19th to Palm Beach since beginning his second term.

It appears President Donald Trump will return to his Palm Beach home, hot on the heels of the release of a film about first lady Melania Trump.

Trump will arrive sometime Jan. 31 for a quick stay at Mar-a-Lago, with a departure on Feb. 1, according to a notice issued Jan. 26 by the Boca Raton Airport Authority.

Should the president come to Palm Beach for an overnight stay, South Ocean Boulevard would close to through-traffic, a security measure that has been put in place many times during Trump’s two terms in the White House.

His visit would come amid increasing tensions between federal authorities and Minnesota officials and residents, following the Jan. 24 shooting death of Alex Pretti by Border Patrol agents.

The airport authority’s notice cautions pilots that temporary flight restrictions of the level issued for presidential travel are forthcoming. While the notice does not mention Trump by name, such notices have become early indicators of the president’s travel plans.

A South Florida trip by Trump would follow the release of the film “Melania” in theaters on Jan. 30. The White House on Jan. 24 hosted a premiere for the Amazon MGM Studios documentary directed by Brett Ratner.

“Melania” follows the first lady for 20 days as she prepares for President Trump’s Jan. 20, 2025, inauguration. Filming took place in Washington, D.C., in New York and at Mar-a-Lago.

A set of presidential-level flight restrictions over Mar-a-Lago for a presumptive visit from Trump would add an additional layer to the flight restrictions issued in October that are in effect around-the-clock over the president’s permanent residence, whether or not he is home.

This would mark Trump’s 19th trip to Palm Beach since taking office for his second term as president.
