Food is one of the best things about travel — going to new places and eating dishes you may have never even heard of before is one of the most exciting things about visiting a new place. Now, train vacation booking platform Railbookers has a delicious new trip through Italy.

The seven-day Florence to Rome: A Food Adventure takes travellers between the two iconic Italian cities, combining the country’s rich history and architecture with its renowned culinary traditions. The excursion begins with three nights in Florence, where highlights include hands-on pizza and gelato-making classes and wine tastings in the picturesque Chianti Hills.

However, the focus isn’t solely on food—you can also see Renaissance and Romanesque art and architecture, such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo di Firenze, and museums like the Uffizi Galleries or the Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze. In the evenings, travellers can feast on traditional Italian dinners at local enotecas (a wine cellar) and unwind in lively squares such as Piazza della Signoria.

  • Train vacation booking platform Railbookers has an Italian rail journey between Florence and Rome.
  • The seven-day trip has cooking classes and wine tastings.
  • In addition to food, you can explore the local art and architecture.

During the journey, guests will travel on the high-speed Frecciarossa rail service with a leg operating between Florence and Rome.

In Rome, travellers will spend three nights visiting ancient landmarks like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and Roman Forum — and, of course, they will also experience the Eternal City’s incredible food scene through guided food tours in historic piazzas and charming trattorias. As a bonus, there’s a pasta-making class, too.

Although the Rome to Italy itinerary is certainly a standout option, Railbookers launched 11 new food-focused trips across Europe that range from seven to 17 days in length and combine the joy of European train travel with cooking classes, food tours, and wine tastings across destinations like Paris and Vienna. Other fun trips include the Taste of Portugal, which visits Lisbon, the Douro Valley, and Porto; and the Taste of Spain, which visits several cities across the country.
