Summer in Rhode Island isn’t complete without a trip – or many trips – to the beach.
While Rhode Island’s beaches are mostly publicly accessible to a point, you should be prepared to pay to park. Many Newport County communities have set their rates for 2025, with some offering free access for residents and all towns setting varied rates for weekdays and weekends.
Here’s a look at what you need to know for 2025.
Easton’s Beach
Dec. 1 through March 31: Free Daily ParkingApril 1 through Nov. 30: Daily Parking Fees ApplyPublic parking is available daily in lots 1 and 3 (Credit/Debit Only)

Newport Residents with a Residential Parking Sticker for the City of Newport are entitled to year-round free parking. No need to enter your license plate on the beach parking meters, as long as your Resident Parking Sticker is displayed you can utilize lots 1 and 3 at Easton’s Beach.

Sandy Point Beach – Portsmouth
Resident Beach Stickers are available at the Town Clerk’s Office. Simply provide them with your valid car registration showing your Portsmouth address. No vehicle registered to you in Portsmouth? Follow the steps for these instances:
- Military: Please send or bring a copy of your valid lease and your valid car registration
- Second home owner: Please send or bring your current tax bill and valid car registration
- Company car: You will need to present a letter on company letterhead from the president of the company, stating this person solely has use of this car, with a description of the vehicle and VIN and car registration to put license plate number on the sticker and your proof of residency (current tax bill or current lease)
There’s a limit of two resident stickers per household.
Non-Residents:
Non-resident entry into Sandy Point Beach – pay at entrance:
- $15 Wednesday and Thursday when lifeguards are on duty
- $20 Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Holidays when lifeguards are on duty
- $50 for a 4-pack to be used any day when lifeguards are on duty

Tiverton Public Beaches
Resident Season Passes

- R/V (Fogland Beach only- no overnight camping): $35
- Veterans or Active Duty: Free pass
What to know:
- Each resident season pass includes one (1) roll of town trash bags.
- Trailers require a pass in addition to the one used by the vehicle.
- Free season beach pass to residents who qualify for the free PAYT program.
Non-Tiverton Residents
This includes other R.I. residents and non-R.I. residents.
- Cars/Motorcycles: $150.00
- Senior Citizen (62+) Car/Motorcycle: $50.00
- R/V (Fogland beach only): $300.00
- Trailer*: $100
